You are still alive. Now act like it!

What do you do when you feel like you can't make it through?

I take out my pen
Tap in
And let my emotions flow
Following the trail of my words
While learning how to let go

I find some rest on the pages in my WNB
Singing out loud...
"What God has for me is for me!"

I put on some music and dance into the night
I remind myself that this battle isn't mine to fight

I pray and I ask God to take the pain away
while giving thanks for each day
that I am given an opportunity to get up and slay!

Dear Dee,

Today was not the best day...I broke down crying in front of my students and just couldn't stop. But it could have been worse. I came up for air and got online to check in with you and realized that if I had never lost my phone, I would not have seen this video and read your words. Everything happens in its own time and for a reason whether we are aware of it or not. This post was just in time. I needed the reminder that even though I am in pain it's only because "I'm still alive". Just want you to know that you are inspirational, motivational, and a sensational poet and artist. Your words have helped lift my spirits in times when I am emotionally at rock bottom. So many people have already benefited from the light you have shined into this world. So many people's lives have been improved just by knowing you, hearing you, see you persist despite all odds. I hope this fills your cup even if just a little. You give me hope! Thank you and I love you!
