I knew I needed to rest, and I was planning to do it my way this summer.
BUT... many are the plans of man, and only God's plans will stand.
Don't give me wrong, I am not blaming God for the current situation that I am now in. However, I must be honest and say that I was frustrated with God for a minute or two.
You see, I had my summer all mapped out. I was going to go hard with TriniGirl Training and finally push my body to the limits that I knew it could exceed, and then it happened. I started feeling pain in my right knee.
I thought it was just the normal aches and pains of being 42 years old, but the pain intensified as time went on. After a trip to Lenox Hill, an MRI revealed that there will be absolutely no TriniGirl Training this summer. In fact, I will be having surgery to repair the tear in my cartilage next month and I'm looking at 6-8 weeks for recovery.
Will you rest now?
Of course NOT! I can still do upper body and core exercises and push half of my body to the limits that I know it can exceed:)
I know what you are thinking. When will Dee learn?
And you know what? You are right, I have a hard head, a soft heart and a pulled Trapezius muscle can be added to my injury list.
No, I didn't pull it working out, even though that would have been so fitting for this story here.
I was actually suppressing a sneeze because I didn't want to sneeze inside of my mask at work and I pulled my Trapezius muscle. Now there is no more hope for pushing TriniGirl to break any limits anymore. Now I have a whole new challenge in front of me.
Will you rest now?
I have accepted that my body needs this time to rest (like I have any other choice smh) so it can heal internally and my training will have to look a little different this summer.
Physical therapy is going to be lit! Lmao
All jokes aside, my training will be in the art of resting and healing which begins in my mind before it can spread to my body. Pray for me y'all, it's going to be a long summer!
"I Can't Stop! Won't Stop!" Lol.
