It's been almost a week since I deleted my social media from my phone and I am feeling like they should have S.M.A (Social Media Anonymous). "Hi my name is Denice Martin-Thompson and I am addicted to social media." I grab my phone several times a day only to be reminded that the apps are no longer there waiting for me to scroll through the lives of others.
What lesson am I learning from all of this?
Well, the first thing is that you can become addicted to many things. The second thing is that I no longer want to be addicted to scrolling on social media; the fact that my mind is calling forth this action even though the apps are no longer there is a little bit scary. It is time for me to recommit to my dreams, instead of my phone screen so my vision for my awesome life will come to fruition.
Questions of the day
What do you truly want out of life?
What are your gifts?
What do you envision yourself doing with those gifts?
What makes your heart sing and your spirit fly free?
Let's be clear about one thing.
It is your job to create the life that you want to live.
We are all designers at heart; we just need to take some time to "Write down the revelation and make it plain (in our writer's notebooks) so that (we) may run with it." Habakkuk 2:2
When it is written down we can prioritize the items on our list, while setting the criteria for our next steps.
