My expectations for my life run so deep
Turning my dreams into nightmares
Triggering booby traps inside of me
My expectations are misaligned with my reality
Somethings just doesn't add up as far as my eyes can see
My heart keeps telling me there is more to come
Look at the time and I'm up looking for the sun
Wanting him to shine his light inside of me
Maybe it is my own darkness that's killing oDee
Let the truth be told, I just want to fly free
Tired of battling these demons no one else can see
Shadow boxing with me, myself and I
Sending prayers up to my Abba, as his angels watch me cry
Waiting and watching has become activities that make me upset
Hearing God's quiet voice saying, "Not yet"
Eyes haven't seen and ears having heard
The prayers I've written about the things that I yearn
This gardener is exhausted from planting her seeds
My hands are bloody and I'm struggling to breathe
And still, I can feel these expectations growing deeper inside of me
Planting its roots into my destiny!!!

My prayer for you!

Dear Abba,
I pray right now for everyone who is expecting a promise to be fulfilled for their lives. I ask that you will help us to put our expectations and hope in you. Not by might, or power, but by your spirit oh Lord. Help us to be alert, present and fully engaged with the process of putting in the work that is necessary to run a victorious race while trusting you to bring forth our promise.
