I almost gave up...

I've been crying my eyes out since yesterday afternoon and for once in a very long time, it's tears of joy and not pain. 

I never knew my life could be this way
Thought I would always be consumed by my pain
But yesterday I felt his rays
Jesus' love was shining down on my face
He heard my deepest cry from within 
And He showed up and had a conversation with me
He said, "Eyes haven't seen and ears haven't heard what He is about to do for Dee"
Time and time again, I would tell people that I feel like there is more for my life, some would say that I need to stop looking and enjoy the ride
But there was something that was growing, deep down inside
Something that needs to be shared with others, something that will make the world come alive
Yesterday He sent me more than a sign
Lorraine Currelley showed up and blew my mind
And today I stand before you to proclaim that God will always be on time.

His plan is to bless us and to complete the great work he began in us. I thank him for choosing me. I am humbled and honored to be in this place knowing that I am only here because of His GRACE.

Before anyone even knows your name
Before the makeup
Before the lies
Before the dream dies inside
Before they know what you can offer them
Before they steal your innocence and replace your gold with copper and zinc
Before they stab you in your back
Before you get pregnant
Before the lack
Before the truth, you will eat the lies
Before the pen, you will want to die….

After the feature you got a clearer vision of the world
You walked onto life’s stage no longer an innocent girl
You realized that many people knew your name
But some only called when they had something to gain
You painted your face
You buried your pain
You applied the concealer and transformed again
You rejected their lies and accepted your truth
You re-entered yourself and ate your own fruit
You planted new seeds and believe that they would grow
You re-entered the world and was mindful of what you chose to sow
You gave unto them what you wanted to receive
You prayed for forgiveness and watched your heart heal
You were armed with a pen and you started to flow
You learned that in order to receive your best from life, you had to let go!
