3/20/2020 0 Comments Finding Your Chill...Deepassionate1 SpeaksYesterday I was having a conversation with one of my assistant principals and he was sharing the adventures that homeschool was creating for his family and his Autistic son. During the conversation, he shared a statement that he used with his son to get him to focus and to find his sweet spot again. It was a simple statement, but it held so much weight in the midst of all that is going on with us during this time and I just wanted to share it with you today. "FIND YOUR CHILL!" In the midst of this virus and state of massive fear, you owe it to yourself to "find your chill". As a believer in God, I know none of this comes as a surprise to Him and as bad as it may get for us, God's plan will still prevail. Four of my boys got released yesterday and I was hurt because I didn't get to say goodbye or anything else to them before they left, but I had to acknowledge that the time that I had with them is what really matters, they will have those memories, lessons, words and moments with them forever. What they choose to do with it all now is totally up to them and the same goes for us. God has been talking to us for as long as we have been on this earth, He has brought us "from a mighty long way", and He has been good in the midst of it all. We can't let go of what we know right now because of all that we don't know. This is not the time to give into fear, it is during this time that we must tap into the power that is inside of us and exercise our faith. Is it going to be easy? No!!! Today, I am up and tomorrow I may need you to encourage me. However, I believe if we bond together while practicing social distancing (lol) during this time, we will find what we need to thrive. Take this time to draw a little closer to God. Spend some needed time with yourself and your loved ones, and most importantly, if God wakes you up another day, be intentional about how you spend your time, energy and attention during this intense time. Remember what you feed your mind is just as important as what you feed your body. With love in my heart for you and yours! DP1 A prayer for you!Dear Abba, Help me to see today's setbacks as temporary. During this time of uncertainty, help me to be certain about the love that you have for me and my loved ones. Help me to remember that you said that I should fear not! And that you are my shield and my great reward. (Gen 15:11) Help me to shine my light in the midst of all this darkness. Help me to sing a praise to you from this foreign place. Abba please heal our land and comfort the people who are suffering. Restore only like you can restore, draw closer to us as we cry out to you. Have your way in our hearts, minds and spirits. Liberate us and direct us on the path that we must travel to accomplish your will for our lives here on earth. In the might name of Jesus. -Amen A Time to WriteAnswer these questions in your Writer's Notebook or your Journal.. 1. How did you start your day today? Create a list... 2.
