Mental Health Month is here and I am aware that my mind is racing, leaving me in the dusk to find my way home. I've been pushing myself really hard for the past few weeks, trying my best to meet deadlines for projects that I am currently working on.
And then there are days like today.
Days like today when all I want to do is cry.
Days like today when I have to remind myself that this too will past.
Days like today when I have to tell myself that quitting is not an option.
Days like today when I needed to reach out to a sis-star friend to pray for me.
Days like today when I needed a hero so that is what I became.
Days like today that will serve as a reminder tomorrow that I made it!
I would like to encourage you to reach out to a friend if you are going through your own struggles this month and need some love and support. You don't have to do it alone, but you have to do it.
Tap into the discipline that is inside of you
Write down everything that you want to do
Force yourself to do it, even on the days when the odds are against you
Remember that discomfort can be a friend instead of a foe
Do the work and with time you will grow
Into a hero in your own eyes
Someone who sees the value in self and will no longer compromise.
