During the holidays, it is very easy to get caught up with gift giving and gift receiving:) Don't give me wrong everyone loves to receive presents; I certainly do, but this holiday season my gifts will be small reminders that we should take care of our selves first. I am creating self-care boxes for my love ones and I would like you to take an opportunity to do the same for yourself. Use today's daily dose as a reflection glass to assess your need for self-care. You can even push yourself a step further by creating a self-care box for yourself too. I would love to see pictures of what you will fill your own box up with.
Question of the day
How can you love yourself more today?
Be good to yourself.
Do things that you inspire you daily.
A Self-Care Box Just for You...
- Get an empty box, decorate the outside of it and begin filling it with all the things that you love and need to take care of your mind, body and spirit. Be sure to include a list of things that inspire you, along with a letter written to yourself. Once the box is filled take a pic and send it to me, I will post it on my website. Have fun and be creative...
I would like to invite you to take some time to reflect on your transformation...
Please take a look at the following stages of a butterfly, which stage do you believe you are currently in? Are you satisfied with your current stage? Explain.
Take a sip!!!
Think about the past few days of your life, think about all the things you did and said. Imagine that the cup above is being filled with those things.
At the end of the week would you be willing to drink all that you put into that cup? Explain…
I am a true believer that we all have room for improvement, we just have to be willing to do the work.
Can you identify one area in your life that you need to work on? What is one thing that you are willing to put into practice to improve this area? (Action plan)
Questions of the day
Are you ready to turn your pain into passion? Explain.
What comes to your heart and your mind when you think about the source of pain in your life right now?
Please don’t judge my today based on my yesterday
You don’t know the battle that I fought
You can’t see the invisible scars
You don’t know what I know
It’s not an excuse
It’s an explanation
One minute I’m high
Then I’m low
Wanting the pain to flow
From the tip of my pen
Onto my paper
Spreading my blood unto my canvas
A painting of a beautiful girl
With beauty and strength
Her hidden truths
Her emerging shadows
Walking from within
Dancing with symbolism
That wakes up her soul
And watches as she dances with poetry
Create a piece detailing how you are going to turn your pain into passion.
Growing up I was taught the importance of keeping secrets. I was told that I needed to protect my family members who couldn't handle the truth of the things that happened to me. As an adult, I also found myself keeping secrets, but I finally realized that I was a walking contradiction. I can't be empowering my girls to speak their truth, if I don't stand up for myself and speak my own truth too. I am not the same woman I was last year, or even yesterday. Each day I am evolving into the woman God wants me to be, but in the midst of my transformation, there is something that I know. I deserve to be respected and protected each day. My life is in my hands and I get to set boundaries for what will be tolerated and what will not. 2018 is right around the corner and we owe it to ourselves to be the best version of ourselves that we can be. It may get really lonely when you start speaking your truth, but a little solitude is good for your soul.
You don't have to suffer in silence!!! Speak your truth...
What secrets have you been holding on to that you know you need to let go of?
When was the last time you checked in with yourself?
Why is it so easy for us to hold on to the things and people who are hurting us?
